Frederike Möller: Frederike Möller – Walzer doppelt

Toy Piano - at first it sounds cute and small and more like a toy than an instrument. It is sweet and small too, but it is also an art form.
Its appearance is similar to the piano, only in miniature format. But that's all what they have in common. The sound is more like a celesta, a glockenspiel perhaps - bright, dreamy and metallic. The sound almost reminds of a kind of music box. Music boxes arouse melancholy - just like the piece "Waltz Double" by Frederike Möller, which she herself describes as polydimensional, funny and melancholy.
The biography of Frederike Möller reads as versatile as this piece sounds. She studied piano, art management, musicology and philosophy in Munich, Cologne, Düsseldorf and Warsaw and has been festival director of the International Düsseldorf Organ Festival since 2018. Toy pianos are also very close to her personal heart - also since 2018 she has her own interdisciplinary concert series in Düsseldorf: the Düsseldorf ToyPiano Festival.
